Hi @channel - I am curious for those using the Smart Cart, did anyone else do free gifts or discounted products during BFCM that had an expiration date but if someone left those items in their carts for days they wouldn't "expire" from their cart? Rebuy is saying this is how the smart cart works but to me it seems more of a design flaw than how it should work. We have used other auto add to cart apps in the past and these "gifts" would expire once the offer date expired.
I haven't tried but even the free gift stays in the cart I will tell customers you didn't get while in the campaign so the product will be no longer free. I don't feel this problem is critical. The free gift will be online for sale after the campaign is over? When you say "expired" the product won't be free any more or the product should be disappear from the cart?
Rebuy is good, but not perfect. The problem is sometimes, they don鈥檛 want to hear that.
And there are other solutions better then Rebuy for certain situations, when you try and point out the best features it feels like they go on mute ears. Rebuy feels they are the best, so its hard to get them to listen a new idea.

Jesse Shimkovitz no the free gift stays free in the cart until customer removes it but if they purchase days later they still get it free. The item should go from free to full price when the offer expires. That鈥檚 what I would expect.
Our Gift with Purchase widget uses data sources to power the offer, so you could use date rules to control the offer. If the date has passed, then the gift would automatically be removed from the cart.

Anthony Hidalgo its not a flaw.. Your use case was not thoroughly given enough time to test. But it is possible.

Remy Medranda you tell me if we offer a free gift valid for 24 hours and 72 hours later that item is still free, it is not a flaw? Yes he did present me with another option and we did use that on giving Tuesday to give free gift cards but the fact is we did not know about this limitation in advance

When you have a sale like this, I suggest going over your Rebuy strategy with Rebuy鈥檚 chat support team first.. and go over all possible issues you can think of..
If you had a requirement like this presented to them PRIOR to launching your sale, I鈥檓 sure they would have rapidly presented you with a solution to solve it with the dataset..
The other thing Remy Medranda with the Gift for Purchase solution that James Van Erck provided, it doesn't work when you are doing "choose a gift" so no, we didn't have a solution
